Stop, Walk and Talk

What do I do? This is the question that everyone has in a bullying situation. In and out of schools everyone has a plan in case of an emergency, whether it is a fire, natural disaster or a bomb threat, people know what to do. When Bullying occurs, what do we do? “Stop” the action, “Walk” away and “Talk” to someone. In three simple steps, we can accomplish so much.  By stopping the action, the bully becomes powerless. Walking away will show strength and give the bully nothing to fuel the fire. Don’t be silent, tell someone what has happened or is happening. If we aren’t aware, how can we end it? “Stop.Walk.Talk.”

The Bully Cycle

The bullied becomes the bully.

The bullied becomes the bully.

Bully Prevention

No longer does bullying only mean a big kid hurting a smaller kid on the playground.  In today’s world there are many variations of bullying, but as educators how do we identify which type is happening in our classroom? How can we  effectively stop this behavior? How can we help the victims? Within this package we will discuss the reasons why people engage in bullying behavior and why our students cannot ignore this growing problem.

As educators, if we know that there are not only one or two types of bullying, but five, we can effectively assess the  situation and create a solution to the behavior. By learning the characteristics of the types of bullying we can also distinguish the characteristics of the bully and victim. In the classroom  setting we can empower our students and teach them that there doesn’t have to be a power struggle, whether it’s between the teachers and students or between the students themselves.

Let us help you create an effective plan that can be implemented into your classrooms for years to come.
